This is my limitation piece. I named it Identity. My limitation was that I could only use finger prints, so NO BRUSHES. I printed out a thumb print and traced the design on a large piece of board paper. I wasn't quite sure what I wanted my color scheme to be, but I really liked how it turned out. I feel like it describes me in a way because the colors are just like emotion. They vary and can some times be dark and somber, but also be light and happy. I used acrylic paint for the medium. I think another limitation was standing the onion smell of the yellow paint. It made me want to throw up. I had to figure out a way to incorporate the onion yellow into the majority of the piece. I actually changed the middle three times, originally the first 7 swirls were plain red and the middle was neon orange and yellow. I think the darker brown brings out the center.
My favorite group limitations project was the newspaper towers. We had to make a tower, using only tape and newspaper. The group with the highest tower at the end won. I liked it because i thought we worked really well as a team and our design was really cool. We had a problem because our tower was leaning and not stable enough, so we had to secure cross beams with tape and make it thicker as the tower got taller.
